HISTORY IN THE MAKING
As a young entrepreneur in the 90’s, Houston White started cutting hair and screen printing t-shirts in his auntie’s basement. In 2007, he opened his own barbershop in Camdentown, North Minneapolis, which became a cultural mecca for community-building and creativity.
Houston started formulating his own products because few options existed for textured hair that contained the right mix of healthy ingredients, natural fragrance and diverse stylability.

THE BARBERSHOP IS OUR COUNTRYCLUB
In 2007, Houston founded FRESH (Formerly HWMR), a barbershop in the Camdentown neighborhood of North Minneapolis. A gathering place for community building, authentic expression of self, and inclusive celebration of Black culture. Over the years, the shop has grown into a vibrant hub for people of any skin color and all walks of life who crave a culture of their own making.

At the corner of North 44th Ave and Humboldt Ave, we are starting a revolution. FRESH Barbershop is a new generation of barbershop, born of historic roots but built for the future.
Now is the time to create space for more people who believe that our differences make us dope, who believe that we have the collective strength to usher in a FRESH era of humanity.
An era for people of all races, genders, and backgrounds to see and celebrate one another. An era for pursuing the highest level of hair artistry through intercultural connection.
