BARBER JOB DESCRIPTION
The barber is an integral member of FRESH. The Barber will provide traditional barbering services that enhance customers’ overall experience and exceed their expectations. A FRESH barber exhibits style, personality and energy that promotes the culture while having a willingness to continue learning.
This individual will also work with our Master Barber (Houston White) to ensure that services are performed and presented correctly through training, education and quality control.
Commitment: Full-time; 32–38 hours per week.
Schedule: Flexible. Some evenings and weekends are required.
Benefits: “Draw against commission" salary, guaranteed base commission during initial start-up period, with employees earning additional commissions after surpassing base amount as Percentage of Revenue; Employee discount on retail and products
PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
Deep knowledge and passion for barbering
Solid experience in all aspects of barbering and building and maintaining a clientele
Excellent communication skills, including confidence in retailing, pre-booking, & educating customers
Confidence in delivering an enhanced and inclusive environment for customers and fellow team members
Future-focused, with an understanding of traditional barriers to equity in barbering and commitment to diversifying the industry
Strong organizational skills and ability to operate with economic considerations in mind
Commitment to excellence
Strong time management skills
Self-motivated and positive
POSITION REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Highschool Diploma or GED
Holds and maintain a current License for the state of MN in Barbering
Personal liability insurance required
Uphold all MN Barbering Laws and Rules
1-3 years experience preferred
Ability to cut multiple textures
Keeping space clean and organized
Ability to build & maintain a steady clientele
Ability to meet service and retail objectives
Representation of FRESH at community and industry events
Create and maintain a welcoming and accommodating environment in the barbershop
Create and maintain a culture of excellence
